The Explosive Child by Ross W. Greene

Media

One example of ODD in TV or film could be Stewie Griffin from Family Guy. His age is murky, somewhere around preschool age, but he could certainly qualify for ODD. He consistently defies and disobeys his parents, loses his temper easily and often, is vengeful and vindictive, and shows unprovoked hostility towards other people. While Family Guy is a cartoon comedy and Stewie's behavior is typically played for laughs, obviously in real life ODD is no joke. Unfortunately, there are virtually no TV shows or films to hit the big-time that feature a character diagnosed with ODD in a serious way. Take Stewie's attitude towards others into the real world, and in more adolescent/adult scenarios, and we would view it very differently.
